Latvia ahoy!

RIGA — Latvian orphans got a rare treat Wednesday when they got a tour of the U.S.S. Kauffman, an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate docked in the Port of Riga this week.

Earlier in the week the U.S. Navy vessel participated in training exercises with the Latvian military, but Wednesday it was all fun and games. The children came from the Teika orphanage in Riga and got to meet many of the Kauffman’s crew of 250 sailors.

Baltic Reports photojournalist Delmi Álvarez was there to capture the moment.
