RIGA ─ Dinamo Riga’s preseason schedule is suddenly looking altogether tougher.
In something of a coup for the club, management have succeeded is luring NHL team Phoenix Coyotes to Riga for a preseason game on Oct. 6.
Since the inception of the KHL, curiosity has been rife as to how the Eastern Europe teams would shape up against their North American counterparts, with the NHL still reigning as the strongest league in the world but with the KHL making significant ground in matching the NHL for quality of players.
Now fans finally get the chance to find out when Dinamo Riga, along with fellow KHL club SKA St. Petersburg who will play Carolina Hurricanes, take on their North American counterparts.
Both games are expected to receive massive following with interest already high over four months out from faceoff.
