VILNIUS — From Oct. 26 Latvian airline airBaltic will no longer operate its Vilnius to Tallinn route because of low passenger demand the company said.
“Vilnius-Tallinn traffic flow simply is lower than anticipated and has been going down over the last year — we expected it to pick up again after the summer, but that hasn’t happened,” head of airBaltic’s Lithuanian operations Tadas Vizgirda told Baltic Reports. “It has been taken out of the winter schedule with possible reinstatement next year.”
Estonian Air operates the route and passengers can still use airBaltic by changing in Riga.
The cut route is the latest of many that the Latvian company has cut from both Vilnius and Tallinn since the beginning of the year.
