Poll spells trouble for government

VILNIUS — The results of a poll released by Delfi.lt on Tuesday don’t look good for Lithuania’s ruling coalition.

The results of the survey, conducted for Delfi.lt by polling agency Spinter Tyrimai, reiterate public dissatisfaction with the current government, as a full 90 percent of those surveyed do not approve of the job done by the Kubilius-led coalition. Further, if an election were held this Sunday, the parties within the coalition would be crushed by the opposition, with the Social Democrats receiving 14.8 percent of the vote, Labor 14.2 percent, Order and Justice 9.5 percent and Kubilius’ Homeland Union/Christian Democrats only 8 percent.

The poll was conducted from Jan. 8 to Jan. 18 days throughout the territory of Lithuania and 1,003 people from age 18 to 75 years were interviewed.
