SEB branch robbed in Tallinn

TALLINN — A SEB branch office in Tallinn was robbed Friday evening at 3:40 p.m. by an unidentified man.

The man entered the SEB bank in Pae branch at the Lasnamägi borough and threatened the personnel with an object that resembled a weapon. No one was hurt in the incident. How much cash the robber got away with is still being determined.

Little details are available as the police just initiated an investigation. So far no suspects have been named.

According to Kadri Põldaru, a spokeswoman for the Northern Prosecutor’s Office the man’s face was covered.

“The investigators are on location working on it, and we are trying to give more information, however not all of the information can be revealed in the interest of investigation,” Põldaru told Baltic Reports.

A similar incident took place in another SEB branch nearby on Dec. 16. 2009, when an unknown man entered the SEB bank in Priisle branch and got away with approximately 40,000 krooni (€2,550) of cash.
