Track faults halt train mid-route

VILNIUS — Passengers traveling from Vilnius to Klaipėda over the weekend had their journeys disrupted after track faults forced the train to stop in Kaišiadorys.

Just 70 km into the journey, passengers were told they would have to change into replacement buses until they reached the next stop in Jonava where another train took them the rest of the way to [private_supervisor]the seaside.

Non-specific track faults were the cause of the stoppage. Lithuanian Railways did not comment about what the fault was, but assured passengers that it wasn’t serious.
