TILBURG, The Netherlands — Lithuania will return home disappointed after claiming just the solitary victory at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) division I group A championships.

Lithuania will be extremely disappointed in their showing at the tournament, finishing fifth out of six teams. If world rankings are anything to go by, this is a tournament in which Lithuania should have realistically finished in the top 3.

Although completing the tournament ranked third in scoring efficiency, their defense was more akin to a sieve, letting through 33 goals in five matches.

Their solitary victory came at the expense of Serbia on Saturday, as Lithuania were able to sustain pressure for the entire 60 minutes for the first time in the tournament.
