KAUNAS, Lithuania — Police have recovered 410,000 litai (€189,000) from a draw in an office in Kaunas after the owner company of the funds reported the theft.
Valdas Krasnickas, 49, was jailed for five years and six months the theft from his former company, EBSW, but until now the cash had not been recovered.
The money was not stored in a safe place or in a locker, but in a locked draw in a table.
Krasnickas claimed that the money had been stolen from the company and that there was no trace of it.
Camera evidence show that the money was taken by a man not working for the company, a fact that confused police and delayed the finding of the booty.
