TALLINN — The Estonian food industry conglomerate Premia Food’s subsidiaries are on a spending spree, acquiring full ownership of Premia FFL and GourmetHouse this week.
Premia subsidiary Premia Tallinna Külmhoone bought over 5 percent of the shares in the Latvian company Premia FFL, becoming the full owner of the company. Like much of Premia’s operations, Premia FFL sells and distributes and frozen and chilled food products inside Latvia. The shares were bought from Premia FFL board member Normunds Ozolinš on May 14 according to the terms of purchase contract that was signed in Nov. 2007 in which Ozolinš was given stocks worth €407,500.
On Monday, Premia subsidiary Saaremaa Kala bought 24.2 percent of GourmetHouse, a seafood company, making it full. Premia Foods paid for the deal with 142,857 treasury shares that are not allowed to be sold until May 1, 2011.
