Lithuanian jailed for vicious attacks in UK

ROTHERHAM, England — Marius Pucilauskas, a Lithuanian living near Rotherham in the United Kingdom, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in jail for stabbing and bottling two different taxi drivers in unprovoked attacks.

Pucilauskas, 25, who was described as a “thug” by local media, used a kitchen knife and a bottle to attack two separate drivers in 2009, the Rotherham Advertiser reported.

The first attack occurred in November in the Kimberworth area when he left his 44-year-old victim with a cut to the throat and a broken finger.

Just six days later he plunged a knife into another 24-year-old driver’s shoulder in Eastwood, where Pucilauskas lived, before stealing the taxi’s GPS computer. During the struggle in the second assault the driver also sustained a cut to the cheek, which left a scar.

The Lithuanian national was sentenced to three concurrent jail terms. Two-and-a-half years for wounding without intent and five-and-a-half years for wounding with intent, plus one year for theft.

Local police condemned the man for attacking people working their daily jobs.
