TALLINN — The Estonian construction supplies store Key Ehituskaubad, which was opened in 1997, will be shut down on July 27.
Tamor Kaup, director of Key Ehituskabad told the Postimees newspaper that it is hard for large Tallinn-based store to compete with other chain stores like Areco, Lincona and Ruuki.
The store is managed by AS Esraven, whose consolidated turnover in 2008 was 338.4 million krooni (€21 million), and profit 99.5 million (€6 million). A year before the company’s profit was 80.4 million krooni. Esraven is a subsidiary of the Silikaat Group, an Estonian conglomerate that runs a number of retail, trade and development companies.
