PLUNGĖ, Lithuania — A taxicab robbery took a grisly turn in the small town of Rietavas, Lithuania Friday evening, all for the paltry sum [private_supervisor]of 80 litai (€23).
According to Plungė police, two men assaulted a taxi driver after entering his cab for a routine ride to from Plungė to Rietavas. After arriving in Rietavas, the men forcibly tried to steal the cab driver’s money. The taxi driver resisted and had his left hand dislocated along with three fingers, while his right pinkie finger was cut off with a knife. The driver only had 80 litai in his car, which the robbers took and left.
Police arrested two men from Mažeikiai in connection with the robbery, but are not releasing their names. Both were released on bail.
