TALLINN — An airBaltic flight from Vilnius to Tallinn was forced to turn back to Vilnius shortly after takeoff due to a technical error.
A Fokker 50 serving airBaltic’s flight BT335 departed Vilnius International Airport at 6:20 p.m. and was due to land in Tallinn at 7:50 p.m., but the pilots turned the plane back when a red warning light turned on. People were notified that a red light warning light turned on showing a possible fire on board of the plane.
The alarm turned out to be false, though, as no fire had broken out and the plane completed the flight later that evening.
“The original departure time of 18:20 was rescheduled for 20:10, as the captain requested an additional check of the aircraft. The aircraft arrived in the destination airport of Tallinn with 21 passengers on board,” Janis Vanags, vice president of airBaltic corporate communications told Baltic Reports.
