JELGAVA — Today marks the beginning of the 2009/2010 Triobet Baltic League with three games taking place across the Baltics.
Match day one was supposed to see four games taking place but due Ventspils’ heavy schedule, their game against Banga has been delayed to a later date. However, the cancellation means that each of the Baltic states will see one game apiece in day one action.
The game expected to draw the most attention takes place tonight at the A. le Coq Arena in Tallinn when hosts JK Nõmme Kalju take on current Virsliga leaders Liepaja Metalurgs. The match will be broadcast live on Viasat Sport Baltic.
FC Dinaburg will be hoping that their recent run of good domestic form will continue when they host top Lithuanian hopefuls, Vetra. In Lithuania, FK Sūduva will be hoping their lack of match practice this month will not count against them as they prepare to host Estonian third-seeds Trans.
The bookies certainly do not think so with the hosts paying €1.80 for a win at triobet.com. In the other two games, Liepaja Metalurgs and Vetra are strong favorites to beat their hosts paying €1.55 and €1.70 respectively.
