TALLINN – The number of drowned people is aiming for three-year record as 65 people have drowned so far this year in Estonia while in total 61 drowning deaths was recorded in whole 2009.
Two people drowned within 24 hours in Estonia raising the number of drowning deaths to 33 people in this July. Only 13 deaths in waters occurred in July a year ago. The water claimed 10 lives in June, and 12 in May, which are also the highest in two years.
61 deaths occurred in 2009, and 77 in 2008.
