TALLINN — The ceiling of the Cinamon cinema in Tallinn’s Solaris shopping center collapsed around 3 p.m. Wednesday, but no injuries were reported.
According to police no employees or customers were inside the cinema at the time. The building was evacuated, but authorities declared there was no longer any danger the rest of the building was open for business an hour and a half after the collapse.
The collapse comes after Solaris’ grand opening on Saturday, which featured top city officials celebrating new shopping, entertainment and conference center’s arrival in Tallinn.
Cinamon spokesperson Evelyn Laar said the main cause of the collapse has not been determined yet. Solaris is planning on repairing the roof and re-opening the cinema.
