GoLive concert tour canceled this year

TALLINN — The five-year tradition of the GoLive concert tour, the local rock music tour organized by mobile operator Tele2, has been canceled this year and will not return.

The event has brought publicity to local acts such as Tanel Padar and The Sun, Vanilla Ninja, Bedwetters with a cheap ticket price. The tour that kicked off in the beginning of September for five years in a row and celebrated the beginning of a new school year. The concert’s audience was mostly teenagers and under-30s.

Kristjan Seema, marketing director of Tele2 told Postimees that the event got worn out and tired so it was decided not to can it.

“Five years is long enough to make an event tired and it is no longer innovative,” said Seema. “New  ideas must be found to attract young audience.”

However, Seema insisted that economic crisis had nothing to do with ending the event, as “GoLive’s objective was never to gain from the ticket fares, the event was mostly in small loss for Tele2.”
