Galatasaray’s misfortune could benefit FC Levadia Tallinn

TALLINN — For the second time this week, a Baltic football team requires nothing short of a miracle if they are to qualify to play in Europe later this year.

After losing away to Turkish team Galatasaray 5-0 last week, most would have written off Levadia Tallinn’s chances of qualifying to play in the UEFA Europa League. But the Turkish team has been hit by a string of injuries to key players, with as many as five regular starters potentially missing from their line up at A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn this evening.

Australian winger Harry Kewell sustained an injury during the first leg last week, whilst Abdul Kader Keita, Ayhan Akman, Ugar Ucar and Hakan Kadir Balta all sustained injuries during a Turkish domestic game on Sunday. This will be welcome news to the Estonians, who along with Dutch team Ajax are facing the biggest deficit of all teams playing in the return-leg of the Europa qualifying round tonight.

balticreports.com prediction: Even with a number of key players missing, Galatasaray should still be too strong for the Estonians. The boys in green and white will have a better showing playing at home, but the task of pulling back five goals will prove too much for the Levadia Tallinn.
