VILNIUS — Infamous Lithuanian gangster Henrikas “Henytė” Daktaras, alleged to be head of the criminal organization Daktarai (The Doctors), arrived by airplane in Vilnius on Friday after being captured in Bulgaria in September.

Daktaras will remain in police custody until the conclusion of his upcoming trial, the beginning date for which has not been set yet. Specific charges against Daktaras have also not been filed yet, but are likely to include heading a criminal organization, murder, attempted murder, robbery and extortion.

Daktaras has a long history of criminal activity — he was first arrested when he was only 19 and has been convicted of a crime five times. Before his capture in Bulgaria he had been on the run since Dec. 2008.
