Bomb threat prankster caught

TALLINN — Tallinn police detained a 30-year-old man named Jevgeni on Wednesday after he falsely told emergency dispatch that there were explosives on an Estonian Air aircraft, resulting in the delay of eight flights.

Jevgeni confessed on the day of his arrest, and the Harju County Court sentenced him to seven months imprisonment with five months probation. Jevgeni will also have to pay 105,835 krooni (€6,700) to Estonian Air to cover expense they incurred searching for the bomb.

Jevgeni’s last name is not being released by authorities.
