Arsonists set fire to classmate’s hair

KAUNAS, Lithuania — Two sorry students may be up for criminal charges along with in-school punishment after they ignited a fellow student’s hair in their Lithuanian language class.

After setting the hair alight, the arsonists moved to pat out the flames with their hands, but it was too little too late and the teacher noticed, reprimanding them.

Though the blaze was immediately extinguished and no major harm done, the principal of the school told local media that they would treat the incident as an attack on another person’s health and well being.

The 15-year-olds have been reported to the police, the school said. Though the principal would like the students removed, it is unlikely to happen because the facilities that should be afforded by law to cater for behaviorally challenged students don’t exist in Kaunas.

The student whose hair was lit on fire is said to be a top performer in the school.
