No replacement for Fritze

TALLINN — Tallinn has not set up a candidate to replace Mikko Fritze, the current CEO of Foundation Tallinn 2011 once he will leave.

After Mikko Fritze, former CEO of Foundation Tallinn 2011 resigned from his post Friday, another board of directors member Jaanus Mutli announced that there is no need for anyone to replace Fritze as he can do the job on his own. If Fritze will not be [private_supervisor]replaced, the foundation could save 82,000 krooni (€5,240) a month of Fritze’s wage, which is higher than the salary of Estonia’s president.

Mutli told BNS Tuesday that in his opinion there is no need for new board members or a CEO. Mutli admitted that the workload is large but now after the program has been approved it can be done by one person. Especially as the program is taken care of by the foundation’s program director Jaanus Rohumaa.

“Besides Mikko Fritze will stay connected to the Capital of Culture through several projects,” said Mutli.

However that is yet to be decided by the council of Foundation Tallinn 2011.

The council approved Fritze’s resignation Friday. Fritze’s job contract with the foundation will end on June 5, 2010.

Fritze will still stay in the organizing team for international events such as ISTLLbul in cooperation with European Culture Capital 2010 Istanbul, and Tallinn’s joint programs with the Turku European Culture Capital 2011 in June 12 in Helsinki.
