RIGA — Choice Hotels Scandinavia has ambitiously announced that along with their planned expansion of six hotels in Poland, the company will be opening nine hotels in the Baltic states over the next three years.
Choice CEO Torgeir Silseth said this will be accomplished via buyouts, franchising and hotel licensing agreements with its new joint venture Clarion Hotels Baltic set up with [private_supervisor]the management of Clarion Collection Valdemars in Riga. Currently the hospitality giant has only two hotels in the Baltics — the Clarion Hotel in Tallinn and Clarion Collection Valdemars.
“Despite the economic crisis in the Baltics, this region of our clients still have enough to bind both as neighbors and trading partners, as well as holiday travel destination. That’s why now is the time for development,” Silseth said.
