TALLINN — A site shutdown proved short-lasting for Estonia’s domain registry on Monday.

Over 1,300 new .ee domains have been registered since the new rules on domain registry took effect on Monday despite of a temporary technical error that halted the domain registration.

The domain reform, implemented by the Estonian Internet Foundation establishes an equal fee for all .ee domain owners, and also allows foreigners to register .ee domains, took effect on Monday.
