The incident is the most recent in a series of crimes perpetrated within the Lithuanian emigrant community in the U.K.

The High Court in Belfast heard the case of a Lithuanian woman who was raped at knife point, burned and had a gun put to her head to threats that she would be killed.

Her attacker is also accused of locking her up and beating her while wearing boxing gloves. The attacks are alleged to have happened over a period of days last month, the BBC reported.

Alleged 28-year-old rapist Audrius Aukštuolis lives in Lambfield Meadows in Dungannon, about 60 km west of Belfast.

In court Aukštuolis denied charges of rape, grievous bodily harm and making threats to kill. He says that the claims are false and part of an extortion plot against him by Lithuanian mafia.
